Associated Press Eighteen-year-old Jeremy Hauck was arrested last August at a motel in Missoula. He and his mother lived in Montana before moving to Utah about two years ago. Hauck is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his mother, 51-year-old Laura Hauck. He has sent a letter to a judge, relinquishing his rights to her estate. The judge instead appointed Laura's sister Faye Garlock as fiduciary of the estate. Jeremy Hauck is accused of shooting his mother in the head twice, slitting her throat and then stuffing her body in their basement freezer. Hauck's pretrial conference is scheduled for November 2nd. He remains in jail. (Copyright 2006 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 10-18-06 1013CDT |
