Theresa There are many Air Force hams...but look up the local (Minot) amateur radio club, or, next time your'e driving down the street, and see a home with antennas which are unlike TV antennas, stop in and ask... the radio operator will be glad to spend as much time as you need, to explain it to you, and show you how to get a license.. It's really fun... Nowadays, you don't have to learn Morse Code, which is like a separate language...but it's a challenge, and when there's a national emergency, i.e. Katrina...the code guys are of considerable aid to the government. During Katrina, the phone lines were down, and communication was impossible...except by the amateur radio operators...who performed yeoman service. Code can get through when voice cannot. Now a days, Code operators are like a little cult...but the good thing is, that nowadays, everybody who uses code, does so because they want to, not because they have to... Needless to say, I am a code operator...but you dont have to be. There are several modes of communication, many of which are digital, and interfaced with computers....and they're all fun... Reply...

Thanks 37Rye. I am trying to find out more about HAMM radios. You got me interested; I never knew anything about it. Reply...
The way I understand it is that the Alltel assets will go to AT&T.
I get internet anywhere there is cellphone signals. Including 75 mphs down the interstate. (of course not while driving) Reply...

If you really had talked to the AT&T rep they would have told you that they're buying out Alltel not Verizon. (No longer current news) The government would never allow the 2 largest wireless carriers to merge. That's a Monopoly, (Not the board game).
Figured that you would have learned about that in your sports marketing class @ MSUM.
Sorry but your credibility is at stake.

Field day, is a national emergency test for HAM..(amateur radio) operators. It's also a day for the public to visit amateur radio stations set up in public places..Ours was in a Fire House... During this 24 hour period, We contact as many other radio stations as we can, and points are awarded in various categories, among which is a points award for contacting stations in every state. I think N. Dakota was worrying about MDU. We never contacted them. I'm surprised nobody set up a station at the Air Base... Tucson, btw, is a place where military folks retire. We have several retired AF guys in our radio club. There's an AF Base here..Davis Monthan, as well as an Army base..Fort Huachuca. See if you can arrange to get stationed here. You'll love it Reply...

Thanks pets for the Information. I have two really great dogs left that are saved from rescue facilities. I really want this time an AKC Scottish Terrier. I actually went to grooming school, and can I doll up a hairy dog, I used to breed Lhasa Apsos. I showed them in the big shows in New York, Texas and California.
I want to get a Female and a male of course from different blood lines to breed, and spoil rotten. I need a hobby besides the soup kitchen that I run every week, that drains me. I want to be able to give them haircuts and do their nails, and have baby Scotties. I just want two litters then I will have them both spayed and neutered. I am looking in as far as the twin cities and there have been none yet. So I will continue. Thanks for looking for me. Reply...
That is the cutest picture. Thanks Sick-O. Reply...
Theresa, go to; petfinder.com . They have some, I looked. Good luck, hope you find one. Reply...
Thanks Rye that is nice of you to reply, I don’t know what HAMS is. We have lost two dogs in the past month, but we have been trying to find a Scottish terrier for a long time. Airline restrictions are so bad now; you can’t just put a dog in a carrier anymore and bring it on an airplane. You have to buy a ticket for it, and it has to have all kinds of health certificates dated within 7 days of the trip.
We used to have a Scottish terrier, his name was Jake and he was a great dog. We were traveling on the Alaskan/Canadian Highway. We stopped a rest stop one hundred miles in the middle of nothing; we were traveling with a fifth wheel. We all got out stretched, used the rest rooms and no one noticed Jake jumped out to use the bathroom. We dove over seventy miles then realized Jake was not in his bed. Everyone started blaming everyone else and we turned around. There was no way I thought I would see that dog ever again, I was hart broken and crying. We got to the rest area, and there he was just sitting there where we left him. We kept that dog in beautiful shape, he was clipped every month. The owner of the rest stop said, that Jake would not let anyone near him. He would growl and snap at anyone that came near him. The rest stop owner said he was going to wait a few more hours before he had to net him or something. Jake was sitting there over three hours, exactly where he jumped out. He was a great dog. It is really hard to find one. Thanks again Reply...
A lady on our street has one..It's adorable...She wouldn't part with it...and we're more than 500 miles from Minot... How'd a nice girl like you, ever wind up in Minot?.. I've just come back from pulling a night shift at the radio club for Field day... We contacted HAMS in every state but W.Va...(difficult with all the noise) Wyoming, and N. Dakota... Reply...
As for cell phone service, this so called president is getting together with providers and will be making people buy from the highest rated provider in your area.No choices will be made by you.Thats why ATT is buying everyone out.Welcome to socializom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Should be in effect in a couple years. Reply...
