Marbury suspended...Ole Miss hosts Mississippi State...Spain leads Golf's World Cup

NEW YORK (AP) Stephon Marbury has been suspended one game without pay and docked additional salary after the New York Knicks say he refused to play in Wednesday night's loss at Detroit.

Marbury disputes the Knicks' allegation, telling the New York Post that coach Mike D'Antoni (dan-TOH'-nee) never gave the order.

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) Coming up this hour in top 25 college Football it's No. 25 Ole Miss hosting Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl. Ole Miss enters 7-and-4 and hopes to lock up a Cotton Bowl berth with a victory. Mississippi State rallied from 14 points down in the fourth quarter to win last year's meeting.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) Ninth-ranked Boise State can complete a 12-and-0 regular season tonight with a win over Fresno State. The Broncos have won 63 of their last 65 games played on the blue turf in Boise.

BOSTON (AP) The Bruins and Islanders are first up on the NHL schedule, playing a matinee in Boston. Coming up next hour, the Flyers host the Carolina Hurricanes in Philadelphia. Those are two of the five day games on the Hockey schedule.

SHENZHEN, China (AP) The Spanish duo of Miguel Angel Jimenez (mih-GEL' AHN'-hehl hih-MEHN'-ehz) and Pablo Larrazabal (lah-RAHTH'-uh-bahl) leads after two rounds of the World Cup of Golf. Martin Kaymer and Alex Cejka (CHAY'-kuh) of Germany and Brendan Jones and Richard Green of Australia are tied for second, four shots back.
