UM hires sports marketing companyJul 14 2008 5:16PM
Associated Press Missoula, Mont. (AP) The University of Montana has expanded its contract with Learfield Sports, a sports marketing company. Last year, Learfield took over the contract to sell advertising at Washington Grizzly Stadium and the Adams Center. On Monday, the school announced a nine-year contract with Learfield to oversee all sponsorship and multimedia rights for UM athletics, including coaches' television shows, certain televised events, corporate hospitality, print sponsorships and athletic event marketing. Learfield will take over radio programming beginning with the 2009-10 season. UM athletics director Jim O'Day did not immediately return a phone call seeking to learn how much advertising revenue the school would receive under the new contract. Learfield Sports, which manages the rights to more than 50 collegiate institutions and associations, also has a contract with Montana State University. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press.
