Pressel is impressive...Westbrook misses practice...Hughes out for a month ...Nov 16 2007 1:04PM
Associated Press WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) Morgan Pressel is making a charge up the leaderboard during second-round play at the LPGA's season-ending ADT Championship. The reigning Kraft Nabisco champion was 5-under on the day through 13 holes, and at minus-4 for the tournament was just one shot out of first place. PHILADELPHIA (AP) Eagles running back Brian Westbrook missed practice for the second straight day with a knee injury and is questionable for Philadelphia's game against Miami on Sunday. Westbrook, who often plays despite missing practice, is currently eighth in the NFL with 701 yards rushing, and second among running backs and ninth overall with 54 catches for 518 yards. CLEVELAND (AP) Cavaliers guard Larry Hughes will miss at least four weeks with a bruised left leg. It's another setback for the fragile player and the defending Eastern Conference champions, who have lost two straight and are 4-and-5 entering tonight's game against visiting Utah. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) With backup point guard Darrell Armstrong out of commission for up to a month due to a thigh injury, the New Jersey Nets have signed Eddie Gill to give them added backcourt depth. Gill is a five-year NBA veteran who has averaged 3.1 points and 1.1 assists in 167 career games. The Nets cut him before the start of the season. DENVER (AP) The Colorado Avalanche recalled Brad Richardson from Cleveland of the AHL for tonight's game against the Stars in Dallas. The forward was assigned to the minor league club on the seventh of this month after sustaining a wrist injury during workouts before training camp. He had a career-high 22 points in 73 games with the Avs last season. (Copyright 2007 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 11-16-07 1256CST |
