Associated Press They say overall costs have risen and that changes in consumer habits could mean problems for businesses that sell alcohol. Some say the problems could force some small-town bars to close. More than 24 million gallons of spirits, wine and beer were reported in the state in fiscal 2008. Tax income rose slightly. But bar owners point out that the wholesale price of beer jumped twice in 2008 and the price of all alcoholic beverages increased in September.
