Initial reports said a mortar round exploded, but now officials say it was a car bomb. PHILADELPHIA (AP) A Philadelphia house fire has left seven people dead. A neighbor says it was sparked when a kerosene heater exploded inside the home. Six of the bodies were found in the basement of the three-story building, and the seventh was near the basement's only exit. Firefighters say there were no smoke alarms inside. COVINA, Calif. (AP) Police in Covina, Calif. have released a 911 tape from a horrible shooting at a Christmas Eve party. On it a woman tells dispatchers her ex-brother-in-law had started shooting people inside the home. In the background you can hear the woman's daughter crying, after having been shot in the face. HONOLULU (AP) A massive power outage has left hundreds of thousands of Hawaiian residents and tourists in the dark on the island of Oahu. Among the neighborhoods left in the dark is President-elect Barack Obama's. Officials say power should be restored by morning. The outage was triggered during a thunderstorm.
