Red Cross Awards

Much like a superhero, they arrive when people need help, and they don't leave until the job is done.

The American Red Cross has always been about helping others, but they wouldn't be able to do so without some assistance of their own.

To commemorate volunteers of the Red Cross' Mid Dakota Chapter, several Minot State art students contributed designs for a special lapel pin. Today, Executive Director of the chapter, Allan McGeough (MA-GOO) honored the students who's ideas were incorporated into the new design.

He says the Red Cross has always had a close relationship with Minot State and they want to continue that tradition.

(Allan McGeough, American Red Cross) "Over the years, we've had lots of volunteers that have come from the University. They've done little projects for us, they've raised money for us, not only for the local community, but when there's been national disasters. So the students have been really good, and the instructors and all the staff have really worked closely with the Red Cross over the years and we're looking forward to that in years to come."

The final design of the pin will now be distributed to all area Red Cross members and volunteers. watch the video | save this article / add to your favorites list
