The Dow rose 494 points for the day. That's an increase of more than six and a-half percent. WASHINGTON (AP) Democratic leaders of Congress want detailed accounting reports from automakers before agreeing to a rescue plan. Lawmakers are deciding whether $25 billion in loans should be available to help the U.S. auto industry recover. They want reports on their financial condition and short-term cash needs. SALT LAKE CITY (AP) Authorities in Utah are concerned about a possible explosion from the crash of a propane tanker truck. Hundreds of homes are being evacuated near Salt Lake City. The truck rolled over on a highway ramp and one of its two tanks ruptured. WESTPORT, Conn. (AP) Paul Newman's will leaves most of his assets to his wife, actress Joanne Woodward. Woodward will get Newman's personal property, including real estate. Newman's Academy Awards go to his Newman's Own Foundation. His airplane and race cars will be sold.
