Associated Press Alexander Hamilton and John Jay, who attended what was then called King's College, were secretary of the treasury and chief justice in the nation's early years. But having a Columbia graduate become president has taken a very long time. The Ivy League school is part of Columbia University whose president, Lee Bollinger, says the school has a core commitment to public service and a tradition of producing outstanding leaders. Another Columbia grad, Eric Holder, is said to be in line for the job of attorney general in the new administration. % |
