Air Museum Receives PlaneNov 13 2008 7:16PM
KXMCTV Minot It's a 1943 Twin Beech 18 aircraft, and it's the newest addition to the Dakota Territory Air Museum. Today in Minot, spectators and members of the museum looked to the sky as the plane arrived at it's new home. Mark Rebholz, who was stationed at the Minot Air Force Base in the 1960s, decided to donate the aircraft. This model was used in the 1940s and 50s mainly for carrying mail. Rebholz flew the plane from Aquila, Arizona to its final resting place in the Minot hangar, and museum members say it's a perfect addition to their newly-renovated facility. (Don Larson / Dakota Territory Air Museum) "Well, it's pretty substantial as far as the museum is concerned. It's going to be our largest display, physically. We're going to be able to handle it now that we got our new expansion last year. We probably wouldn't have had room for it before that, but that expansion made this possible too." The Twin Beech will be grouped with several other aircrafts at the museum and used for a future display entitled, "Flying the Night Mail."
