Former Daycare Provider Found Innocent

NOT GUILTY ON ALL FIVE CHARGES...

THAT'S VERDICT FROM A Cass County JURY FOR A FORMER Y-M-C-A Daycare WORKER ACCUSED OF MOLESTING FOUR YOUNG GIRLS.

BUT IT'S STILL A CASE THAT'S FILLED WITH EMOTION ON BOTH SIDES.

HERE'S Fargo Reporter JASON VINCENT WITH OUR TOP STORY.

BRUCE: when you actually have a client you know didn't do it, the pressure is immense..

JASON: BRUCE QUICK SAYS HIS CLIENT, 20 YEAR OLD JATTEN HEINEN IS RELIEVED AND READY TO GET BACK TO BEING A COLLEGE STUDENT..

TODAY, A CASS COUNTY JURY ACQUITTED HIM OF FIVE MOLESTATION CHARGES FOR WHEN HE WORKED AT THE FARGO Y-M-C-A

FROM THE BEGINNING, QUICK SAID SHODDY POLICE WORK, AND NO EVIDENCE WOULD LEAD TO TODAY'S DECISIONS

BRUCE: There wasn't any investigation... They took an accusation by a young child and stopped the investigation

You can't assume that a 7 year old making a statement is the end of it

JASON: PROSECUTORS SAY THEY KNEW THIS CASE WOULDN'T BE AN EASY CONVICTION..

BUT, THE FOUR YOUNG ALLEGED VICTIMS KEPT THEM FOCUSED

RYAN: I'm very proud of the case we put on, i'm very proud of standing up with these families and these little girls and doing what we know is the right thing

JASON: DURING TODAY'S READING OF THE VERDICT, THE GIRLS PARENTS SHOOK THEIR HEADS IN DISBELIEF..

KNOWING THE MAN THEY BELIEVED MOLESTED THEIR DAUGHTERS IS NOW WALKING FREE

LEAH: They stood up for their children and they believed in their children and we believed in their children.

WE TRIED TO TALK WITH JATTEN HEINEN AND THE ALLEGED VICTIMS' FAMILIES, BOTH OF WHICH HAD NO COMMENT ON TODAY'S DECISION.

HEINEN DOES STILL FACE ONE SEPARATE MOLESTATION CHARGE FOR AN ALLEGED INCIDENT AT A DIFFERENT FARGO DAYCARE.

THAT CASE HAS NOT YET BEEN SET FOR A HEARING. watch the video | save this article / add to your favorites list
