Associated Press DENVER (AP) Democrats are eagerly anticipating Bill Clinton's speech at the Democratic convention tonight. The former president is expected to launch attacks on John McCain and the Bush administration, particularly over the current state of the economy. SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic (AP) Authorities are saying a landslide triggered by Hurricane Gustav has left eight people dead in the Dominican Republic. The storm is blamed for three deaths in Haiti. Gustav is a tropical storm now, but it's expected to gain strength again as it moves toward the Gulf Coast. BATUMI, Georgia (AP) A Coast Guard cutter loaded with humanitarian aid is docked at a Georgian port. Less than 200 miles to the north sit three Russian warships also in the Black Sea. The Russian Navy says its ships will be involved in peacekeeping operations. Washington (AP) The Commerce Department says orders for durable goods easily surpassed last month's expectations. The 1.3 percent rise mirrored June's increase. But the news isn't enough to boost stock prices this morning. They're being kept in check by rising oil prices. ATLANTA (AP) Things are back to normal at airports around the country, after a computer glitch at a Federal Aviation Administration facility caused hundreds of delays yesterday.
