Pomeroy Attends Democrat ConventionAug 26 2008 9:00PM
KXMCTV Minot The Clintons are expected to ask their followers to get fully behind the candidacy of Barack Obama for president, even after the tight primary race between Hillary Clinton and Obama. North Dakota Congressman Earl Pomeroy is among the delegates to the convention. He says the party relishes a good argument, but in the end, he believes democrats who supported Clinton will throw their support behind Obama in an effort to win the White House for the party. (Rep. Earl Pomeroy, -D- ND) "For better or worse the Democratic Party is a big raucous party. I like to think it's within the family. We have our fights and disagreements, we have them openly we have them honestly, there's no smoke-filled back room, that's just how it works. But then at the end of the day we come together." Pomeroy says the North Dakota delegation has a prominent position on the convention floor because the Obama campaign believes North Dakota is an important battleground in the race for the White House.
