KXMCTV Minot It'll be there, even though more than 1-thousand signatures on petitions to get it onto the ballot were rejected by the Secretary of State's office sparking an investigation. That's because around 600 of those signatures came from a sole circulator. A man from Fargo and his girlfriend now face misdemeanor charges for providing false information on a government document. Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says this appears to be an isolated incident... (Wayne Stenejhem, Attorney General) "We found no evidence that indicates that these practices were followed by anyone else involved with the circulation of these petitions. " Leaders of the group that submitted the full set of petitions say the incident is regrettable, but that the initiative is a good one that would help all North Dakotans... (Duane Sand, Americans for Prosperity) "We're saddened by it, but we're not going to be distracted by it." Nearly 13-thousand signatures are required to put the petition on the ballot. More than 14-thousand were accepted so even with the rejections, it will still be up for vote come November.
