Florida awaits Fay...Dam fails...Eyes on Georgia

KEY WEST, Fla. (AP) Tropical Storm Fay is expected to become a hurricane as it starts heading toward the Florida Keys. For now the storm is dumping lots of rain on Cuba. There's a hurricane watch up for most of the Keys, where the storm could arrive by late Monday.

PHOENIX (AP) Officials now say they are less concerned about the threat of flooding at a tribal village near the Grand Canyon following a dam breach caused by several days of downpours. Still, scores of people were airlifted out. There are no reports of injuries.

GORI, Georgia (AP) Western leaders are keeping an eye on Georgia to see if Russia will keep its promise to start pulling troops out Monday. U.S. officials say they're rethinking relations with Moscow after its incursion deep into its much smaller neighbor.

RENO, Nev. (AP) Speaking at a union town hall in Reno, Nevada, Sunday, Barack Obama tore into John McCain's campaign for trying to make Obama look weak and unpatriotic. Responding to the attack, a McCain spokesman says McCain has never questioned Obama's patriotism, but does question his experience and judgment.

BEIJING (AP) It's a big setback for China at the Beijing Olympics. Defending Olympic champion Liu Xiang (loo zhang) has pulled out of the 110-meter hurdles. His right hamstring has been bothering him for months.
