Associated Press Washington (AP) The Senate holds a Saturday session today to take up a bill aimed at helping homeowners caught in the mortgage crisis. President Bush initially called it a burdensome bailout for irresponsible borrowers and lenders. But he's now agreed to sign it. CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) All branches of 1st National Bank of Nevada and First Heritage Bank in Nevada, Arizona and California have been shut down by federal regulators. Officials say all accounts will remain safe. The banks will reopen Monday as branches of Mutual of Omaha Bank. LONDON (AP) Barack Obama says the problems Americans face at home are often best dealt with by working with allies overseas. He's in London today, defending his decision to make a week-long trip to Europe and the Middle East. UNDATED (AP) Republican presidential candidate John McCain will be making a morning radio address today. He's also scheduled to speak via satellite to a forum on disability issues. LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) Police in Kentucky have arrested a man in connection with a hit-and-run accident that left two young girls dead.
