ST. PAUL (AP) The leader of the Minnesota State Lottery has been elected as president of an association that includes 31 lottery programs.

Minnesota State Lottery Director Clint Harris began his stint with the Multi-State Lottery Association July 1.

The association represents lotteries in 29 states plus the Virgin Islands and District of Columbia. Lottery games including Powerball, Hot Lotto and Wild Card are sold by the lotteries in the association.

Harris has served as the group's vice president since July 2007.

He has been Minnesota's lottery director since 2004.
