Campaign money...Obama/McCain trade war...Israeli exercise



Washington (AP) Barack Obama's campaign says it raised 22 million dollars in May, and ends the month with 43 million dollars in hand. The total for the month is just slightly ahead of John McCain, but overall, Obama has raised more than 287 million dollars during the past 17 months, to McCain's 115 million.

OTTAWA (AP) Some cross-border sniping between John McCain and Barack Obama. McCain, in Canada, said Obama's opposition to NAFTA the North American Free Trade Agreement casts doubt Obama will honor U.S. commitments. Obama shot back that it was interesting McCain made the remarks in Canada instead of U.S.

states where there are concerns the agreement is costing Americans jobs.

WASHINGTON (AP) A large Israeli military exercise this month may have been to show its ability to attack Iranian nuclear facilities. The Pentagon says Israel sent warplanes across the Eastern Mediterranean. The New York Times quotes officials as saying some of the aircraft flew more than 900 miles, about the distance from Israel to an Iranian nuclear enrichment plant.

WINFIELD, Mo. (AP) One emergency official in Missouri says lower river crest projections are good news, but it's too soon to say the flood threat is over. Meanwhile, flooding along stretches of the upper Mississippi has brought barge traffic to a standstill.

LOS ANGELES (AP) "Guiding Light" and Tyra Banks have picked up two trophies at tonight's Daytime Emmys. Gina Tognoni, who plays Dinah Marler, won the award for outstanding supporting actress and Banks scored the first ever Daytime Emmy for informative talk show.
