EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) More than four months after Andrew Bynum injured his left knee, it's been decided the Los Angeles Lakers center will undergo arthroscopic surgery. It will take place Wednesday the same day the Lakers entertain San Antonio or New Orleans to begin the Western Conference finals.

A timetable for his return will be established after the surgery.

The 20-year-old Bynum hasn't played since injuring his knee on January 13th. He averaged 13.1 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.1 blocked shots in 35 games.

It was initially believed Bynum would be sidelined eight to 12 weeks. But coach Phil Jackson said last month that a return this season was remote, and Bynum said much the same soon after.
