Associated Press PHILADELPHIA (AP) Pennsylvania Democrats are making their choice between Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham CLinton. Poll workers are reporting high turnout across Pennsylvania, with officials in one town checking in 10 percent of the ward's voters by 9:00 a.m. NEW ORLEANS (AP) President Bush isn't ready to call it a recession. Speaking today in New Orleans, the president said the economy is instead in a "slowdown." The president also said he's concerned for American consumers in the face of rising gasoline prices. NEW YORK (AP) Gas and oil prices continue to moved further into record high territory. AAA and the Oil Price Information Service report that the national average for a gallon of gas has hit $3.51 for the first time. Meanwhile, the price of crude oil is nearing $120 a barrel. Washington (AP) A plan being outlined by Transportation Department Secretary Mary Peters will set a fuel economy schedule that's more aggressive than what industry officials expected. A government official says new cars and trucks will be required to achieve 31.6 miles per gallon by 2015. WASHINGTON (AP) One of President Nixon's daughters is apparently backing Barack Obama. Federal Election Commission records show that Julie Nixon Eisenhower has contributed $2,300 to Obama's campaign. That's the maximum allowed during the primary season.
