Associated Press EUGENE, Ore. (AP) The University of Oregon is leading a project to create an atlas of Yellowstone National Park and its region, including Grand Teton National Park. The Atlas of Yellowstone will include comprehensive reference maps as well as "page pairs" that cover nearly 100 subjects. The page pairs will feature graphics and scientific data, including the migration of bison, the impact of wildfires and American Indian history. Park officials, Montana State University and the University of Wyoming are among the contributors. The atlas began as a geography class project at Oregon in 2002. It's scheduled to be finished in 2010. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 04-22-08 1125CDT |
