Fish travels in Montana river after breach of centuryold dam...Apr 9 2008 6:13PM
Associated Press Missoula, Mont. (AP) The state fish and wildlife agency says a rainbow trout has moved from the Clark Fork River into the Blackfoot River and traveled upstream for the first time since a dam was built a century ago. The trout was tracked through telemetry used to help study how the ongoing removal of Milltown Dam affects fish. The dam near the confluence of the Clark Fork and Blackfoot rivers is being dismantled this year and next. Breaching of the dam on March 28th allowed the two rivers to begin flowing freely for the first time in 100 years. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
