A man has been arrested in the stabbing death of a Devils Lake woman earlier this month.

Authorities say 26-year-old Billy Thomas Eagleman was taken into custody this afternoon.

He's suspected of killing Paula Hartze, a longtime teacher at the North Dakota School for the Deaf.

She was found stabbed to death in her Devils Lake home on March 2nd and Devils Lake Police Chief Bruce Kemmet says Hartze was killed a day earlier.

Kemmet says forensic evidence linked Eagleman to the crime.

Ramsey County prosecutor Lonnie Olson says Eagleman and Hartze knew each other but he would not say how.

Formal charges are expected to be filed against Eagleman on Monday. watch the video | save this article / add to your favorites list
