Rapid City social worker wins adoption award

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) A Rapid City social worker has been honored with a 2007 Angels in Adoption Award.

Senator Tim Johnson met with Audrey Kirkpatrick, a social worker for Catholic Social Services, on Monday.

Each of South Dakota's congressional delegates can nominate people for the award from the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute. only one person in each state is chosen.

Kirkpatrick says the feeling of winning such an award has yet to set in.
