WSI - Part IIFeb 12 2008 11:19PM
KXMBTV Bismarck WSI executive Jim Long, who was Chief of Support Services at the agency for three years, has become a whistleblower against the agency. He has been suspended from his job while an investigation goes on. Meanwhile, he's saying his former job involved refusing benefits for injured workers who should have received those benefits. In the final part of his series on WSI, Jim Shaw of Fox News in Fargo talks with the WSI whistleblower. (Jim Shaw, Reporting) Long is a supporter of having WSI become a private agency - or putting the agency under the control of the governor's office. WSI officials would not comment for today's story.

I do not believe you are telling the whole story or actually giving "the news". I believe if you conduct a full investigation you will discover the "story behind the story" especially as it pertains to your first segment dealing with how the "injured" worker got injured and the full process it took to get denied benefits from WSI.

I've heard this for years.........the injured worker does not get the help they deserve. Eventually they give up on getting benefits that they so deserve. You go Jim!!

Unfortunately there are alot of "injured" workers who are totally faking it too. Face that fact. It hurts the ones who are legitimately injured.

Ever hear the saying, "walk a mile in my shoes"....?? Those of you who have NEVER had an injury & had to deal with WSI....don't be judgemental!! There are always going to be people who spoil it for others, but take a good look at how those who have been injured & are NOT faking it. Don't you think they should be treated fairly & should be entitled to benefits?!?!?!? You try dealing with pain on a daily basis, treated like you are a low-life, told you have to go to some training thru the Corvel Corporation that is totally ridiculous. All they are doing is pacifying people. Making it look good on paper that they went thru the steps to supposedly help an injured worker be ready to get back into the job market. Sad part is most of the time that injured worker is put in a job that pays less than what they were making prior to their injury, and then they only get some monies to make up for their income loss, AND only for a certain period of time. During the long & frustrating wait, they have lost almost everything, including their self-esteem and self-worth!! What price do they have to pay??? Personally I think the system is majorly messed up.......but question is....how do we fix it? Hopefully this investigation opens a lot of people's eyes & minds to what has been truly going on.....a complete injustice!!
