Havre company announces plans to build biodiesel plant...Oct 9 2007 3:24PM
Associated Press HAVRE, Mont. (AP) A Havre company says it has chosen a site close to home for a new biodiesel plant and production facility. It will eventually produce 10 million gallons of fuel a year. Robert Allen is vice president of operations for Allied Bio-Energies. He says they'll start with 18 employees, and in three years will have 48. CEO Scott Geda says the company picked a site near Havre because it is central to the most productive growing area in Montana. And he says the mission and goal of Allied Bio-Energies are complementary to the Northern Agricultural Research Center, south of Havre, and to Montana State University-Northern. Allied Bio-Energies says the new facility would be Montana's first commercial bio-diesel processing and refining plant. The company says the plant will produce five million gallons of biodiesel a year, expanding to 10 million by its third year in operation.
