Minot Air Force Base Airman Dies on Leave

Authorities are investigating the death of a Minot Air Force Base airman who died while on leave in Virginia.

Base officials say 20-year-old Airman 1st Class Todd Blue died Monday while visiting family members in Wytheville, Virginia.

Blue enlisted in the Air Force in March of last year and joined the 5th Security Forces at Minot Air Force Base the following August.

Posted by Mommy of Two on Sep 15 2007 9:48AM - I got chills when I read the story posted about the Airman from Minot Airbase dying while on leave. The fact that someone is dead that was associated with the B52's that were "mistakenly" loaded with active Nuclear Warheads that were flown over the country - is creepy and very suspicious and needs to be investigated.

Dead men don't talk...I wonder what Airman Todd Blue knew....

Posted by ssgt theman on Sep 16 2007 3:18PM - As an A1C, he probably didn't know too much. His death is unfortunate and tragic but hardly indicative of some evil conspiracy.

Posted by Old Sarge on Sep 16 2007 3:19PM - He was a low ranking policeman with very little to no contact with aviation weapons systems.

Posted by Garry Annison on Sep 16 2007 3:21PM - Except that he wasn't "associated with the B52's that were 'mistakenly' loaded with active Nuclear Warheads that were flown over the country." He just worked at the same base. He was a finance clerk, a chaplain's assistant, or a gym administrator, or any number of other jobs wholly unrelated to any activity on the flight line.

It's like blaming Hillary for all those deaths of her friends from Arkansas while she was First Lady.

I'm also a member of Security Forces for the Air Force (but not at Minot). Security Forces are better known a military police. SF has NOTHING to do with loading or unloading munitions from aircraft. the closest this airman ever got to a B52 was making sure nobody walked away with it from the flightline. Sorry to burst your conspiracy bubble. I'm sure Mulder and Scully will be saddened by this.

Posted by Romeo Zulu 606 on Sep 16 2007 9:14PM - Who in the Hell signed-off for those nukes?

I was a courier for such nuke devices for a number of years, and they absolutely had to be signed for - coming and going - PERIOD. In those days it was considered to be EXTREMELY serious business.

Even in this sick wishy-washy era of "NOBODY'S really at fault" the nukes HAD to be somebody's responsibility.

It is really simple, who was the LAST person who signed for those nukes? There IS a paper trail, and only ONE person responsible; and it surely ISN'T the recently deceased airman!

The AF must name and properly charge those who had control, and lost control, of those weapons; OR the so-called tinfoil-heads will have PLENTY to rave about.

Let's not take the usual multiple months to "investigate" and write purposely vague and misleading reports.

Instead, look for the signature(s), then name AND CHARGE the idiots responsible immediately.

It will be quite interesting to see just how HIGH up in the chain of command that this hot potato will eventually land!

Posted by Lycanth on Sep 16 2007 11:12PM - I know someone who lives in New York city. Does that make me wholly, or only partly responsible for the attacks on 911?

Posted by Wanderer on Sep 16 2007 11:22PM - There are something like 7500 people at Minot AFB. That's the size of a small town. If someone from a small town dies (while out of town, at that) it does not mean that the mayor murdered him.

And think about it: If you're one of the Super Secret Cabal and you want to kill someone, would you do it while he's outside of your jurisdiction? Or would you arrange an "accident" right there on your AFB where you can control the investigation, disappear the evidence, etc?

Some people's tinfoil hats are on so tight, they're cutting off the blood supply to their brains.

Posted by Cardboard Hat Squad on Sep 16 2007 11:24PM - So far there is nothing to indicate that anything shady has taken place as of yet, but, that does not mean nothing shady didn't happen either. Give it a little time to see what happens next. I will say this though, I would put NOTHING past this administration, from shady to totally pitch black.

Posted by Cam on Sep 17 2007 12:22AM - The Minot website:
http://www.minot.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123067840
"Airman 1st Class Todd Blue, 20, was a response force member assigned to the 5th Security Forces Squadron."

minot.af.mil/units/5bwunits.asp
"The 5th Mission Support Group… consist of the 5th Civil Engineer Squadron, 5th Communications Squadron, 5th Force Support Squadron and 5th Security Forces Squadron, 5th Contracting Squadron and 5th Logistics Readiness Squadron."

He was security for the base, and he was assigned to the same squadron as the accidental bomber. He had nothing to do with loading or unloading munitions, but that doesn't mean it doesn't merit investigation. If the doorman is found dead in a robbery case, you consider it carefully. This should be treated likewise.

That being said, tinfoil hat or no, even the fuelling guys have to know if there are active munitions on a plane. If they're nuclear, everyone has a whole extra set of safety checklists to do. NO ONE transports nukes in an under-wing firing position. There are entire systems set up to prevent this from EVER happening. In order to get through those systems, the entire base on active duty would know about the nukes, just in the course of doing their jobs.

IMHO the conspiracy-murder here makes no sense. So many other people would have had to know about this transport, what could a security guard have seen to make him a particular threat? But the connection is close enough to warrant investigation, if only for the sake of thoroughness.

Posted by G.P.P. on Sep 17 2007 12:30AM - This is a comment to doctorwormwood. Sir,in making a comment as you have, you should be careful using the "1111" as It is associated with the illuminati. One might think you are attempting to redirect information.

1. All six people listed below are from Minot Airforce base
2. All were directly involved as loaders or as pilots
3. All are now dead
4. All within the last 7 days in 'accidents'

Posted by ponytailjones on Sep 17 2007 6:03AM - I'm not trying to perpetuate a conspiracy theory here, just to challenge some skewed logic. Saying that the fact that this guy's job didn't bring him into contact with the planes or the nukes means his death had nothing to do with it is an utter non sequitur. He could have witnessed something he shouldn't have, he could have overheard a conversation he shouldn't have, as security he could have been ordered or paid off to look the other way in allowing someone access to the base who shouldn't have access, there are literally a hundred reasons why this guy could have been killed in relation to the nuke thing regardless of his job on the base.

Posted by WOW! on Sep 17 2007 8:13AM - Unplugger, you are reaching. The 2 from Shreveport and the one from Washington werent even from Minot, the airman who died on the outskirts of town died on July 4th, and the pilot who died, died on July 19th, Well before the incident. You are a complete MORON! Conspiracy nuts can see a conspiracy in anything.

Posted by hey stupid on Sep 17 2007 8:46AM - unplugger.....

NEWS FLASH: accidents do happen

The pilot that died in a motorcycle crash..well all I got to say is that it happened BEFORE the nukes.

The couple at Barksdale that died from a motorcyle crash...unrealted.

This new airman that died..hard to say because no information was released....maybe he died from a MOTORCYCLE accident though

that is really the only connection to be made. Maybe people shouldnt ride motorcylces.

If I had to guess all the people that he was friends with back at home DONT watch the news and had no knowledge of the mistake. The only way they would most likely know is if he told them, which he was ordered not to by the base commander.

-of those 6 stories you posted TWO are the same person who is neither a loader or flyer

-one lives in louisiana and it doesnt state his job

-one lives in florida and went missing in august

-the rest died in july

-kill yourself

Posted by what gives on Sep 17 2007 9:34AM - unplugger - you should carefully read the stories that you post to go with your conspiracy theory.

#1 - Barrs died on July 5
#2 - Kissel died on July 20
#3 - the nuke flight was on Aug 30
#4 - Frueh died around Sept 8
#5 - Blue died Sept 10
#6 - the couple that died on Sept 15 were from Barksdale AFB, not Minot

So as you can see, your theory only works for 4 of the 6. Unless the other 2 knew something was GOING to happen more than a month ahead of time.

The only conspiracy here is that something was apparently supposed to happen, and it got leaked out. Nukes are not transported from one base to another on a plane, and the nukes are very carefully accounted for. Therefore, someone signed these out, with proper authorization, got a crew to load them on the plane, and flew them on a mission. The mission was then discovered, so they played stupid and are now saying they didn't know the nukes were on the plane. You need to load the nuclear warheads into the missiles. They aren't stored that way. There is a lot of paperwork, and a very well established paper-trail for this so-called error.

But for you to say that these deaths are all related to the nuclear mission is just ridiculous. Maybe you need to get a better fitting aluminum foil hat.

Peace out

Posted by tv2112 on Sep 17 2007 10:06AM - Wow. What ever happened to train as you fight? Can't get more realistic than that.

Posted by Minot AFB Veteran on Sep 17 2007 11:10AM - I was stationed at Minot AFB for several years in the 90's and with it being a smaller base, it takes on the smaller community vibe. Rumors fly, conspiracies are conspired, but for the most part, none of it is true. Yes, the military makes mistakes. We are human after all, but we do hold ourselves to a higher standard than most and sometimes it would seem that a cover up would be necessary once mistakes are made. Again, Minot is a small community that can only survive by constant honesty and integrity. A mistake was made. A young airman died. How sad that we can't see past our own shortcomings to morn the loss of a human being. Only a person who looks to cover up their own mistakes would jump to such suspicious conclusions. I implore you to have more faith in our military. It is the first step towards supporting our troops unconditionally.

Posted by Des Anatine on Sep 17 2007 11:20AM - Associating this airman's death with the 'loose nuke' incident at Minot may be a tin-foil fantasy, but nonetheless this leap says something about the state of trust in our Administration - by and large folks think the US leadership is capable of just about anything, and for good reason.

It wasn't too long ago that anyone suggesting the government was listening to all calls, reading all emails, and tracking all web surfing would have been cast in the same loony light.

The recent release of CIA historical documents confirming what were considered tin-foil theories in the 50's and 60's - secretly dosing black men with Syphilis, children with radioactive isotopes, and military officers and random citizens with LSD, suggest that yesterday's crazy conspiracy theories are tomorrow's mea culpa.

Certainly these paranoid suspicions transcend political boundaries - anyone remember the one about Hillary snuffing Vice Foster? How about the one about the black helicopters buzzing Ruby Ridge? Or the gay conspiracy? Or thosee dirty commies flouridating our water? Better protect those precious bodily fluids!

Posted by dan on Sep 17 2007 11:52AM - @what gives
The couple that died on Sept 15 were indeed from Barksdale. Which was also were the nukes were flown.

And like youself point out, there had to have been a paper trail and advanced planning. These people, that died mysteriously before the nuke incident, can have been killed because they've refused to cooperate.

All in all we have 6 deaths of people all pertaining to these 2 bases in a very small given time. I'm not familar with how often accidents like these are but surely this must be unprecedented. And we have the nuke story, that according to the military, was also unprecedented.

Call me a crazy conspiracy theorist with a tin foil hat if I suspect foul play. I call myself a realist.

But what I do know, like someone said previously, is that i don't put anything past this administration. We should ALWAYS suspect any government (any institution for that matter, including and especially religious institutions) with a documented history like this country's. If we have been able to commit attrocities in the past (blame it on the military, blame it on the Agency, who cares? it's all the same gumbo). As "leaders of the free world" they're bound to bend the rules a little (a lot actually) every few hours or so. It's the basic principle to maintaining the status quo.

Your just adding fuel to the nutcase fire...if your statements are true then MAN UP and tell the rest of the story, support your allegations by corroborating FACTS...otherwise your requests to trust and believe you are pointless...anyone can say they knew A1C Blue then sprinkle in the idea that there's more to the story...unless youre willing to, and actually come forward with more information that supports this, you are not worthy of anyone's trust or belief.

Sooo whats the real side of things? Everyone wants to know, what if anything is not being said?
I DARE YOU TO NOT BE A COWARD AND ANSWER THIS TRUTHFULLY!

Posted by DUH! on Sep 22 2007 4:21PM - If Skyman "does" know A1C Blue, why in hell would he even think about releasing any information?? I mean c'mon here, were talking about dealing with the goverment? How stupid would someone be to disclose any information when such a thing has taken place followed by a full scale investigation?

Sounds to me like "AD" is just plain a$$ nosy!

If you've ever been in the military you would know that you don't run around jacking your loose jaws about information on incidents that don't concern the public!

Posted by AD on Sep 22 2007 10:27PM - DUH,
I was in the military for several years including a good portion of it in A1C Blue's squadron (although I was out long before he got there) Im not being plain a$$ nosy. Im simply responding to a posting made by someone saying we should trust his word that theres more to the story without a shred of evidence to back it up. Ive taken the time to read throught the downright nutty theories that have been spewed on this string which do nothing but detract and degrade the memory of a young airman who is now dead...

If you find that to be nosy, then I respond that Im not being nosy, I am annoyed and offended for a dead Airman whose posts I've manned...IF Skyman is in the military and IF he truely did know something more to this, and IF he truley wanted to honor the memory of his friend and he felt this was the correct forum to do it then he shouldn't have left his comments as is. He already has "jacked his loose jaws". By leaving the message as is, it gives more ammo to the nuts out there who would crap on Airman Blue's memory by throwing irresponsible unsubstantiated accusations around. AND TO DO THAT IS THE ACT OF A COWARD! If what Skyman supposedly knows is so secretive and doesnt "concern the public" and he's not willing to back it up then he should have never posted a comment to begin with. Keeping quiet what needs to be kept quiet is fine..open your mouth, even a little bit, then hide ANY part of the truth is cowardly and lacking of basic integrity. No one who does that gets my blanket "tust" or "belief" that Skyman clearly requested in his posting.

Rest In Peace A1C Blue.

Posted by Jeremy on Oct 20 2007 4:33AM - I've read many of your post's, and can't believe the attitude of the many who confess that tin hat's are making more out of this then would inturne merit.

What if America was missing a nucler weapon mounted on a radar eluding cruise missle? What if an American city was hit by a nuclear bomb just day's before the election. Martial Law would occur, and our present President would prevail! Jeremy

Posted by dan on Oct 20 2007 10:01PM - GET IT STRAIGHT: Both the bases in Barksdale and Minot were directly involved in the transport of the nukes.

Is that so hard to understand? How can you not connect the dots?

1. Barrs and Kissel have nothing to do with the nuke transport incident. Leave them out.

2. Frueh and Blue had to be silenced due to the nuke transport incident (Minot's side). They knew something they shouldn't.

3. The couple that died on Sept 15 from Barksdale AFB, had also to be silenced due to the nuke transport incident (Barksdale's side). They also knew something they shouldn't.

4. Cover up goes on also on this forum, by posting false statements by the clean-up mob.

5. Conspiracies existed, exist and will exist. They are not the case with every event we look at, but this one here stands a damn good chance.

6. Anyhow we'll see a nuke somewhere.... Then we'll know where the 6th nuke war head ended its journey.

7. Iran will be blamed for it by everyone.

8. War against Iran will be granted by everyone, since its attrocity.
