Underground transformer explodes, Light Rail shut down...Jul 25 2007 10:13PM
Associated Press MINNEAPOLIS (AP) The Light Rail Transit line was closed down for less than an hour in downtown Minneapolis this evening after an underground electrical transformer exploded near City Hall. Deputy Fire Chief David Dewall says the explosion just before 8:30 p-m led authorities to evacuate 30 people from the Qwest building. Nobody was injured, and a brief fire extinguished itself. The cause of the transformer explosion and fire remained under investigation, but Dewall said there's nothing to indicate the cause was suspicious. (Copyright 2007 by The Associated Press.
