Two Minn. workers comp groups sue AIG for $100 million...Jul 19 2007 11:33AM
Associated Press ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) Two Minnesota workers compensation insurance associations are suing American International Group to collect about 100 (m) million dollars in damages for allegedly fraudulent business practices. In the lawsuit, Minnesota's Workers' Compensation Reinsurance Association and Workers' Compensation Insurers Association charge that A-I-G one of the world's largest insurers under-reported its workers' compensation premiums to the two nonprofit groups for the past 22 years. The lawsuit seeks to recover allegedly unpaid reinsurance premiums and assessments. An A-I-G spokesman declined to comment, except to say the company does not speak about active litigation. The lawsuit was filed in the U-S District Court for the District of Minnesota. (Copyright 2007 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 07-19-07 1129CDT |
