National Weather Service confirms tornadoes in Sunday night storms...Jul 18 2007 11:55AM
Associated Press (Mike Tanner, WDAY, Fargo) FARGO, N.D. (AP) National Weather Service meteorologist Greg Gust has confirmed that tornadoes caused some of the Sunday night storm damage in southeastern North Dakota. Gust spent two days surveying the area. He says at least two tornadoes and possibly four touched down on Sunday night. Gust says it appears the tornados were a strong F-1 or weak F-2 on the Fujita scale meaning they had winds around 110 miles an hour. He says one tornado tracked southeast from near Embden to the Sheyenne Grasslands southeast of Sheldon. He says a second tornado was on the ground from just west of Tower City to northwest of Alice.
